For over 10 years IEEE Canada’s TISP (old name) group has participated in the Science Teachers’ Association of Ontario (STAO) conference held in Toronto.  This was started by David Hepburn with help from other volunteers and more recently has been led by Satish Saini.

This is a multiday (2 or 3) conference for science teachers in Ontario.  Our participation has usually involved a booth in the exhibit area where we promote our STEM resources.  Some years we have also hosted a workshop showcasing one of our activities on one of the days.  We usually make contact with 200-250 educators each year.  Some of these turn into longer-term connections

The exhibit has been funded by all the sections in Ontario – about $1200 total.

The 2020 and 2021 versions of the conference were cancelled due to the pandemic lockdown.  Satish is attempting to work with STAO to participate in some of their webinars which replace the conference this year.
